The FFA was founded in 1928 and is the largest student organization in the country with over 850,000 members across the country. Kansas has over 10,000 members and is continuously growing. The letters FFA formerly stood for Future Farmers of America, and in 1988 the name was changed to the National FFA Organization realizing that not all participants will go on to be farmers, but all can benefit from its activities. As Mr. Cooper likes to say, FFA is no longer just cows, plows and sows, but beakers, speakers and career seekers. The organization provides students with opportunities to travel across the state and possibly the country, develop leadership skills, get to know and compete with other students, and gain recognition for accomplishments in the Agriculture Education Program.
The mission of FFA- FFA provides the next generation of leaders who will change the world. FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education
Conway Springs signed the charter that officially recognize the school as a chapter in Kansas in February 2023. Being a new chapter, there are endless possibilities to where the FFA can take you in the future. If you would like to know some opportunities come speak with Mr. Cooper.
